Jigsaw Pupils Enjoy National Coding Week

Jigsaw School pupils enjoyed National Coding Week last week and completed a number of different activities during the week.

The highlight of the week was certainly the coding workshops that were run by Surrey SATRO. We were incredibly proud of all pupils who participated. First, they followed picture instructions on iPads to build a structure/machine and then they used block coding to programme their machine and make it move, spin, shake, light up in different colour or even make different sounds. Pupils built either an earthquake simulator or a cooling fan. They used many skills from fine motor (some of the pieces were very small and fiddly!) to problem solving, and they showed perseverance and patience while working on their projects.
