Jigsaw’s Sixth-Formers have got to grips with carpentry skills thanks to educational charity Surrey SATRO, which offers practical experience of different aspects of the working world. Sixth Form 1 and 2 students got hands-on experience of manual and electric woodworking tools under the watchful eye of SATRO expert, Robert.
All the students had their own workbench in the Sixth Form outside space. Robert brought all the benches and tools in a van and had the students measuring, clamping, sawing and drilling with great accuracy.
The students worked brilliantly and clearly enjoyed this new vocational experience.
We are very grateful to Robert and SATRO and hope to run more sessions with them in future.
SATRO has been running for over 30 years and has inspired more than 450,000 young people across Surrey and the South East.
